EMS Services Through Local Fire Districts

Valley Countywide EMS District services are delivered through the local fire departments in Cascade, Donnelly and McCall. This allows each community to continue receiving EMS from local crews while connecting the three stations through one countywide system.

Pairing EMS with existing fire department facilities, equipment and management avoids the added cost of operating a separate ambulance agency. It also provides additional response capacity. Each fire department staffs a primary ambulance and maintains a reserve ambulance that can be placed into service by cross-trained personnel when multiple emergencies occur.

This shared model gives Valley County access to six ambulances while strengthening the personnel available for medical calls, fires, vehicle crashes and rescues.
